WhitePages Expands Android Portfolio With New Free Application That Turns Android Phones Into a Comprehensive On-the-Go Directory New Free App Delivers People and Business Search, Reverse Phone Lookup, GPS for Maps and Directions, and "Save to Contacts" Features That Build on the Success of the Top Grossing WhitePages With Caller ID for Android Application (November 24, 2009)

SEATTLE, WA -- (Marketwire) -- 11/24/09 -- As part of its ongoing mission to help consumers connect with confidence while on-the-go, WhitePages (http://www.whitepages.com), the largest and most trusted online directory, today announced the launch of a new free Android application. Available immediately, the new WhitePages Android app provides robust people and business search, integrated GPS for maps and directions, reverse phone lookup to find a name for unknown numbers, and "save to contacts" functionality to keep mobile address books up to date.

The free app builds on the momentum of WhitePages' Caller ID application, which has become one of Android's top grossing apps thanks to its unique ability to automatically display a name for unknown callers by searching 600 million listings including mobile numbers. WhitePages' new Android app will include a seven-day free trial of Caller ID that users can then purchase for $6.99 for six months of service. WhitePages expects its new free Android app will appeal to even more consumers who want to easily find and connect with people and nearby businesses anywhere and everywhere they go.

WhitePages' new free Android app includes the following features and benefits:

-- People Search: Immediate mobile access to the most comprehensive source of phone numbers and addresses. WhitePages' database includes free access to contact information for over 200 million people or 90 percent of the US population. -- Business Search: Easy to use business search auto populates entry fields and provides fast results for nearby businesses by name or by category. -- Reverse Phone Lookup: Lets consumers quickly find a name for unknown numbers in their call history. -- Save to Contacts: Customers can add the caller's name, address and number to a phone's existing contact list with just one tap -- and even sync with their Google Contacts account online. -- A free seven-day trial of Caller ID: Indentifies incoming calls so people can easily put a name to unknown callers; searches 600 million US listings, including mobile numbers, and displays the results automatically.

"Following the successful launch of our premium Caller ID application earlier this year, we have remained steadfastly focused on the wants and needs of our growing Android customer base," said Kevin Nakao, vice president of mobile and monetization. "With the introduction of the new free WhitePages Android app, customers will now have instant access to millions of phone numbers and addresses, right at their fingertips."

WhitePages' mobile applications have surpassed an audience reach of over two million mobile users through its popular iPhone, Android, BlackBerry, m.whitepages.com, and text LOOKUP, mobile offerings. While the company has invested heavily in all of its mobile platforms, just as Gartner Research's Ken Dulaney predicts that Android will leapfrog iPhone by 2012, WhitePages also believes in Android as a key driver for its mobile growth strategy going forward. Since its initial launch earlier this year, WhitePages saw better than expected conversion rates of 13 to 15 percent from the previously offered free trial Caller ID application to the premium version and anticipates that number of conversions from its new free offering to its premium solution will expand incrementally.

The new free WhitePages Android application can be downloaded by searching for "WhitePages" in the Android Market store or by visiting http://www.whitepages.com/android.
