Advanced Effects with the Track Matte Key. The track matte is one of the most versatile effects--it can be used to simply add a vignette around your video, to blur a face, or to display moving video inside of your titles. Podcast host Jeff Schell walks you through, step by step, how to create a handful of different track mattes in Premiere Pro CS3. While these tutorials are shown using Premiere Pro CS3 for Windows, these can be equally duplicated on the new Macintosh version of Premiere Pro CS3

Schell discusses where you can apply a track matte, how to expand it, how to apply and expand a blur, and what track you want to borrow the shape from. He also shows us how to apply a track matte with a title, and details the effects of a luma matte.

He also details the black and white effect, the color balance effect, and how to blur out people's faces in your video, ala the cops effect, using the mosaic effect.
